The Autumnal Festival

In Autumn goddess Durga comes to earth,

To fulfill everything which is our dearth.

Everybody waits for the goddess to come,

To rejoice the best festival among the some.

Lakhs of people come to the streets every day,

To see the idols, pandals that come their way.

From children to elders all wear new dresses,

Everybody roams about with smiling faces.

From rich to poor all make merry on their own style,

That is the feature of the festival for rank and file.

But after the festival goddess returns to Kailash,

Leaving all of us in a state of sorry affairs.

We keep waiting again for one year for her advent,

This is the practice for years which is prevalent.
