Teardrops
Teardrops
They occur when you well up
Those little, tiny drops
Make your eyes fill up
With no intention to stop.
Once your eyes are filled up the brim
They drip down in turns
Usually preferring situations grim
To make your heart churn.
Clear and pristine like pearls
Gleaming in sun-like small diamonds.
They flow like little rivulets with swirls
But are shaped like almonds.
You want to release them
When your heart feels heavy
But once they leave your eyes like a gem
Your core feels light and airy.
They come in times happy and sad
Don’t differentiate between good or bad
They roll down eyes like they are
Having a race till somewhere far.
They pull together lashes so that
They can be strong and allow them to splat
Or fall down in a splash
As we rumble in our meaningful stash.
Often they stop to pine and ponder
Whether to go ahead or stop, they wonder
On red cheeks and a trembling chin
They stream down the skin.
But they have their own perks
These rain resembling waterworks
They lighten the heart and
Freshen the face to make it rotund.
