Sleepless Nights

Every night when I creep inside my bed, 

When the world is still and my heart is numb, 

And nowhere can be seen a tinge of blue or red, 

All creatures are asleep, whether witty or dumb, 

I look through the crevices, Deep into the night sky, 

And think and think a lot!!! 

 

I wish there wasn’t a tomorrow, 

I wish there isn’t another day, 

For again i’d heed towards pain and sorrow, 

And be full of disbelief and dismay, 

Cause yet another sunshine is what i fear, Afterall I have none near or dear!!! 

 

I strive hard to fall in the clutches of sleep, 

And trot towards the land of dreams, 

But, it isn’t too easy to befriend the sleep, 

All I listen to, is the silence of screams, 

Isn’t it funny, I yearn for sleep, 

Something for which one doesn’t even care. 

 

Nothing lies in my hands, 

I would rather say, 

But wouldn’t it be fun to travel to dreamy lands, I think and think, 

And in a blink of eye, 

I look outside and lo, 

Its already a new day!!!
