Can I Have Yet Another Day?

Can I Have Yet Another Day?

Oh, dear little one,

Do you remember that day one in a million,

The day your tiny hands held my fingers,

Oh, that lovely, innocent touch still lingers.

I’ve known that naughtiness in your eyes,

Since the day you were in my lap with my sighs,

And something beneath felt so watery and ewww, It was your pee on my little skirt, phewww.

How we’d play when you were little,

I’d stand out and fight for you, elephant or beetle,

And how you’d laugh when you saw me fall,

But never let a being trouble me, tiny or tall.

That was us, you and me,

Fighting till eternity until mother got us free, But, dead stable to hold onto each other,

When any third person would come to bother.

Today, my love, you leave me alone,

For the good, of course, no sarcastic tone, But, is it necessarily so?

To leave me and you apart, bro?

I don’t know how to say,

But could you for once stop and play,

I can’t see you leaving,

Can I have yet another day?
