Sister's Love
Sister's Love
Finishing my lunch that afternoon
Without my mother being around
I wondered but did not ask
My father had left for some task.
Gently my grandmother held my hand
Patted my head and made me stand
Thrusting flower in my hand
Asked me to pray
I didn't know what to say.
Perplexed looks of mine she understood.
You will have a baby brother today.
I was excited and forgot to pray.
Open eyes dreamt of playing with my brother.
Early evening we went to a huge building
Which they called a hospital
But it was my temple
For here in my arms
I first held my brother.
