Tragedy Others

She Longs to Say...

She Longs to Say...

She longs to say something,

And a tragic verse she wills to sing.

Today, here, her heart yells and shout,

To make things clear, she speaks aloud.

She reminisces, no sweets were given, but people had mourned,

You know, cause a girl child was born.

Looking at her, people said, there a burden does lay,

From all those orthodox beliefs, "I Quit", she longs to say.

She goes to school and studies great,

But to study further, she is asked to wait.

And then that 'wait' forever stays,

From all those differences, "I Quit", she longs to say.

She becomes the queen of the kitchen room,

And then people say find her a groom.

But someone please ask her, what she wants. Well...

From all against her desires, "I Quit", she longs to tell.

She, around the clock, works for the man,

But alas! She's always told, "You Never Understand!".

Anger fills in her, but she knows that 'Gender Bias' when,

From all her helplessness, "I Quit", she longs to shout then.

She wants to talk, she wants to play,

And become a small source of independent ray.

With enraged eyes, she sees all those replies of "NO",

From all her caves, "I Quit" she longs to yell and forever go.

Now, she has become pretty old,

And to "Get Out" from her house, she is told.

By those who once on her lap did lay,

From all the betrayals, "I Quit", her tired voice longs to say.

In her deathbed, about her life, she thinks,

And all those devastating memories, she sees and blinks,

"My life could have been better.." unlocking the reason for her fate, she cries for long,

Regretting not saying "I Quit", for the fear of them, alack! she said "Goodbye" taking a heavy heart along.
