Shackles Of The Mind
Shackles Of The Mind
Do you ever feel as though,
You are perpetually trapped,
Occasionally giving you a high,
Rest of times keeping you low,
You may be strangely wrapped,
In the dense shackles of the mind;
Darling hold still have courage,
For this war isn’t with a foreign foe,
But an evil within gone savage,
Pacing at you like the thirsty crow,
Enticing you to slowly encourage,
Fear not the augmentation of any seeds they sow;
Promise to not even gently fret,
Over the one that got away,
For its purpose has been positively met,
Never to return so you may pray,
To always be mindful of any likely threat,
And strive to be the master in this nasty game they play;
This clearly divided long line,
May solemnly swear to never appear,
Or someday might take shape so fine,
Either to aid your triumph,
Or to abruptly besmirch and besmear,
It is for you to choose your side of the diam;
Forever finally you will emerge,
From the shackles of the mind breaking free,
In a far away land even skies may merge,
Where the sun sets to meet the sea,
Be wonderfully valiant, keep up your chin,
Ultimately unleash the invincible within.
