Not Today
Not Today
It’s all in the past,
Some would say;
Careful not to make it last,
The curse may hunt one like a prey;
Just hope that day is not today.
Is it however so really,
Perhaps we may never know;
The reason behind those events truly,
Dig too deep and it’ll make your mind blow;
Making today more miserable than the days to follow.
Damage to a broken mind may well be mended,
It is the broken heart which is tricky;
As even when constant care has been tended,
We fall more often than be offended,
And rarely see the broken being picky.
It’s best to let the past be a testament,
To a pattern or event of folly,
Forbidden from being repeated only for your betterment;
Reminisced more so in memory of the person you once got to be,
For it isn’t a sin to conjure up this forsaken melancholy.
