Rest

I feared the cage that bound me tight,

But one day, freedom's wings took flight.

I feared the flames that burned with might,

But then, he showed me embers' gentle light.

I feared the roads that stretched so long,

But then, he sang a melody that guided me strong.

I feared the choices that I had to make,

But then, he taught me courage for my heart's sake.

I feared the stories that ended in despair,

But then, he showed me hope beyond the sorrow's lair.

I feared the colors fading fr

om my sight,

But then, he painted a vibrant picture, a wondrous delight.

I feared the rains that poured like a relentless sea,

But then, he gave me shelter, a haven for me.

I feared the heights that made my heart quiver,

But then, he taught me to soar, to spread my wings and deliver.

I feared myself, my own inner strife,

But then, he introduced me to my inner life.

He freed me from my fears, one by one,

And showed me that I am stronger than the battles I've begun.
