Tragedy

Religion Creates Void

Religion Creates Void

I never knew my religion, when I was born.

I was feeling comfortable and safe in every one's lap.

Never knew; whose lap it is.

No matter which religion the person belonged.

I would respond by a smile to everyone who hugged and kissed me.

But, when I started growing,

I was made aware of my religion and of other religions.

The preaching I received slowly created a wedge,

Hate and intolerance to other religions.

I lost my human values and respect to humanity.

Selfish persons like politicians,

fundamentalist further contributed and created deeper void.

When I grew older, death seemed to be approaching me.

Self realisation and repentance of hatred finally forced me to believe

The value of all irrespective of religion.

For us religion gets attached at the time of birth ,

But gets detached at the time of death.
