Into The Unknown
Into The Unknown
I. Forehead beaded with sweat
Grey wires wrapped around my neck
Shadows are lurking behind my conscience
I open my eyes only to close them again
Crestfallen hopes and false memories
Sounds of tears and torn relationships
Wrapping myself in the blanket again
I drift off into the unknown.
II. Endless answers to questions I don't like
Ever-maddening thoughts circling the same dysphoria
Bottomless ocean of unexplainable guilt
I hide behind the comfort of my façade
Leaving the closest, clueless about my well-being
I drift off into the unknown.
III. Open skies, dewy grass and painful longing
For a gentle caress of unalloyed tenderness
Tearful eyes store an anthology of merriment
Reminiscing how comfortable I was, once,
I drift off into the unknown.
IV. Sleep, a kiss to escapism
Feathery footsteps fading into an obsidian nigtmare
Grabbing for anything that'd help me
Bring back stability under my jelly legs
I have no control over this holy coffin as I am
Running out of reasons to hold on -
I drift into the unknown.
