 nature   light   darkness   spring   hope   others   colours   holi 

Spring conspired with nature

to declare a war of colours

Earth took the cue and everywhere 

blossomed fields of flowers


Humans took up piston guns

playfully aimed at each other 

war cries filling the atmosphere 

without any element of fear


Thus was born festival of Holi

celebrating spring's new attire 

She wears with grace and 

presents herself every year


Renewing hope and faith 

in minds and hearts

removing dark soot cover

Assuring all is not yet over!
