Promise
Promise
The night was dark, as cold as ever
He had promised her a flower, a ring, and a lifetime with her!
He ran through the forests, and the walls were calling him back,
Paying off a deaf ear, he ran to where his love called...
It was the same graveyard and the same old guard,
But he didn't greet him today, also the old smile was lost.
His beloved was waiting, he had a promise to keep,
He glanced at the watch, it told him a few more minutes.
She would soon be here, to embrace him again
He waited and waited, and when she came.
It was the same day, when once she had failed to come
And only then, he checked the calendar date!
