Peace
Peace

Why can’t the world work peaceably?
So simple is the solution
Why don’t they see it as clearly.
A little compromise and understanding is necessary
The world is too large for small and petty vendettas personally
The world is not a playground
Where war is a game
There are no two teams
Where world leaders captain for the same
I don’t see the reason
For these standoffish natures
The cause of widespread death and destruction
Which surely, do not benefit any one.
Has the world not learnt from its past lessons?
Why can’t those at fault
Accept their faults?
Why can’t we try to be peaceable nations?
And be amicable for once.
What do those groups gain
From blowing bodies into smithereens?
Are their ideologies gaining any acceptance?
Or are they even ruling over people.
As far as I can see
They govern the ill diabolical
Those with no country, no identity
And who have lost all humans redeeming qualities
A terrain rendered useless by their own hands
Why does there have to be such hatred in their hearts?
So dark that they are a shriveled black mess
Nothing but hard flesh
With no regard for life’s blessedness
I can’t tackle all of them
Not in one day
Or one week
Or one month
Or for years probably
But it saddens my heart
To hear and feel so deeply
When there is no solution that I see
I, like so many, shut my eyes and ears
To all these single myriad fears
So that individuals life may go on
For me, at least
But I wait and prepare for the day
When I can do and not just say
Just a little bit to move along the way
Even if I might not save the day
I want to be a worker, not a hero
Help, if not erode
And so I hope
That tomorrow will dawn brighter
For a better day,
For a better life,
And a better world.
