The Path

There is a real zest inside me

A hunger for knowledge

A hunger for truth

And a hunger for work

Real, hard and gruelling work

That exhausts all other thoughts

Work that is the only purpose to life

 

The mind is even now questing

To explore new avenues of intellect

The time has gone for jesting

There is no more subservience

To laziness

Awareness is the only constant

Purpose gives meaning

So I can ignore all the surrounding nonsense

 

Control is once again within my grasp

And now I shall continue to prevail

Over the mind and body

All functioning together in harmony

The true intended symphony

 

From a long time since

I have been waiting for this reappearance

This control

And this peace

 

How quiet and empty everything seems

That it feels like I've triumphed already

But there is still a long way to go

The road of which I'm not too sure

But I have guiding lights

Lamps that light my way

And slowly but surely

I will reach the destination soon and to stay.
