Parting

Parting

I wish we had never met-- now parting is tearing me apart,

Pain--such agonising pain, has pierced the core of my heart,

While wringing me dry of every drop of peace. I’m traumatised-----

I am broken, beaten, battered and bruised, in fact pulverised.

My interests have all waned. My colourful world is now dim.

My energy’s all sapped. Days have become gloomy and grim.

As the melancholic stream reluctantly parts from the arms of the hill,

Sobbing and weeping. Brimming over with gushing tears, the valley fill.

As the frenzied monkey whimpers and whines, when he loses his mate.

Parting from his dear one, reduces him to lamentable, pathetic state.

In our journey through life, we come across those who are nice and good,

But no one can replace the One, whom we had met, to leave us destitute!
