Nostalgia
Nostalgia
You sit in the park watching
Children as they play,
Running around you, screaming and laughing,
Memories flood your mind,
Of the happy moments when
You too were a child,
Nostalgic of those times,
A child comes to sit next to
You,
You are old in age he is young in age,
But, both of you on the same page,
One ripe in age, the other just
Leaving infancy behind,
He extends his hand, you too
Do the same,
Together you both hold hands.
The child gets up to go,
Smiles at you bids you goodbye,
You to get up your tired bones weary,
You sit in your car to drive away,
You notice the child on his cycle,
Stops the car walks up to the child,
Hugs him tightly to say thanks,
The child looks at you in wonder,
You walk away in happiness
To your car,
A child just made your day.
