MOUNTAINS
Empty roads and pure air,
my heart with no despair
Mist in the sky,
the flowers so shy
Roads with twists and turns,
cold nights where fire burns
Mountains stood so strong,
and the journey too long
The sun would hide,
the moon's clear sight
The clouds as white as snow
where cold breezes would blow
They touched my skin,
And washed my sins
Mornings filled with a tint of red,
The dues were the tears He shed
the tears of glee,
to see a place dust-free.
the birds were chirping,
their happy dancing
Then came the shining white,
It was the light of the night
Brighter than the sunlight,
Was the moon's sight
Twinkling stars lit the evening,
dark nights filled with lights beaming
The noise of the street fare,
The vendor's voice would blare
The kids ran all along,
these voices were like a song
As I walked down the hill,
they faded and I stood still.
the earthy smell,
the church's bell,
the luminous beetles,
the rosy petals.
It made me stay,
while words became short to say.
I stood with my mouth mute
all alone in solitude.
I finally found something
For which I had been looking
The hidden joy in the world of seven,
This was truly heaven
I found my wandering heart's keys.
Such is nature's peace
Such is nature's peace.
LOVE
A rainbow without colors,
A garden without flowers
A sky without birds,
Last without firsts
An ocean without water,
A house without a daughter
A bow without an arrow,
No happiness, only sorrow
Smile without joy,
You being just a living toy
Without one the other is incomplete
Your mind and heart compete.
Hearts without love,
Life could be so tough
All around people throwing shade,
Lost your soulmate
Your love is nowhere to be found,
Flying in the skies, you suddenly hit the ground.
You think it was all fake
Your body starts to shake
Your mind feels dumb
And your heart numb
When you feel you can't live without it
Have you ever thought about it?
The love you've always given
Your sins, have you ever shriven?
You poured your heart out,
You tried to prove your love loud
Loud enough for him to doubt
And it took you for a toss all about
Now that you feel empty,
Now that you know you are lonely.
You think you've lost the battle
Just hold on to your cradle
Let us Go back in time
Where your eyes would shine
Your smile was a gem
Your eyes, filled with contemn
That time when you loved your mother
And your only hero was your father
All the love they've given you
You are reflecting it on who?
Just wasting it and spilling it all over
This love isn't sober.
Stop putting your love and energy on Something or someone,
When you can be your only one
Just start loving yourself
I promise you won't need anyone else.
Make yourself believe,
Your stress will relieve
Change your attitude,
And turn it into gratitude
You are your only soulmate,
Shine all over, no more shade.
You are the correct definition of perfection,
Between these thoughts, there is no conjection.
Now, this pure love which u will reflect,
Full of joy, sorrow will neglect.
You will be able to spread happiness
You will be able to cure other's sadness.
You will be able to make this world a better place,
There will be no competitive race.
Just pure love everywhere,
And nothing else to care.
Treat yourself first, then comes the rest
Love yourself first, build your own nest
The one standing in front of you in the mirror,
She is glaring at you and asking u,
Why is it so difficult for u
To embrace your own beauty
To accept your insecurities
This is the only key to calm down your internal and mental storm
You will never feel lonely again, all you'll have will be LOV
MAN UP
I'm here, always here
In your eyes, won’t be a single tear
These words I write,
To see you smile
To promise you,
I will be with you
The problems you face,
It's just a phase.
When you feel lonely,
And think u have nobody
When you don’t feel like living
And your heart is aching.
When you need someone,
And there is no one.
In your room, when the lights go off
And your voice becomes so soft
When you lie on your bed,
And tears, they shed.
When you hug your pillow so tight,
And say that you can no longer fight.
That ‘s when you stumble
That’s when you become gentle
They who always say, "boys don't cry"
It is all a big lie
Breaking these stereotypes,
Where no one hypes
You are you
The true you
Because even you get hurt
Even your life is filled with dirt.
"Don't cry like a girl"
"Boys are supposed to be stern"
I ask you, don't they have a heart?
Aren't they torn apart?
Don't they feel lonely?
Don't they need somebody?
They do have feelings
At night, they do stare at ceilings
They do cry themselves to sleep
Their hearts do peep
They never get that warmth,
When there are huge storms
They fight them even when they are torn.
So just talk to them,
Sit with them.
Ask your father about his life,
About his struggle and his fight
Let him pour his heart out,
Let him tell you the times he wanted to shout
When he wanted to give up,
But still had to act so tough.
Let your son cry,
Tell him not to be shy.
Talk to your little brother,
You're his second mother.
Talk to your partner,
Don't let his heart shatter.
All these men in our lives
Have fought so many fights
Their rough and tough hands,
Reach out for that one soft hand.
That hand which will never leave them,
That hand which will always protect them.
I'll wrap my arms around you
And ill tell you
That you aren't alone
A part of me has your hold
In your heart, I reside
You no longer have to hide
Now that you have let me in your heart,
I'll never let u fall apart
I'll be your knight in shining armor
All my blessings I shall shower
You won't be further torn
I won't ever leave u alone.
There won't be a single tear
I'm here, always here
AN INDIAN GIRL
Over those shores of tears,
Is her heart warmed up with fears.
Inside she holds it all tight,
Alone does she have to fight.
She was a child,
All she did was cried.
She was a girl who dreamed and believed,
She was a girl who was very keen.
She wanted to fly beyond the skies,
She wanted to free herself from all those lies.
She saw her mother being torn apart,
Into pieces broke her heart.
Father is what you call,
Or men for the sake of lord.
Father you were suppose to be an example,
But you gave her the bitter sample.
Her mother worked day and night,
All her wounds were tied up tight.
The brother worked all the way,
He is a ‘true man’ by the way.
‘Man of the house’,
Girls are supposed to be a spouse.
He was given all his rights,
And she sat there in lonely nights..
Forced was her sister
By her own mister
But marriage is a license,
To show violence
After all, once married
A girl is all yours
Consent is a joke
Tie up your minds with a rope
It's a way to embrace your body shape
And no, it’s not marital rape
The girl was stopped,
Her wings were chopped.
She tried to be bold and bright,
Studying was her only light.
She lit it up and worked hard,
For she had a new life yet to start.
But girls don’t have to shine
Living for yourself is a crime
She was told to leave her life,
And go become someone’s wife.
An Indian girl u see,
they can’t be so free
Their mouths are shut
And dreams are crushed
Our sin is that we are girls
Our minds can’t be stern
We can’t have opinions
We are just supposed to cut onions
You can’t live a life of your choice
‘Girls are supposed to be poised’
‘don’t sit like that’
‘hide your pad’
‘lower your voice’
‘Clothes can’t be of your choice’
Yes i am a girl,
A girl with an opinion so stern.
My hands aren't decorated with bangles
My hair aren’t braided, they are tangled
My forehead is not about the dripping sindoor
It isn't about mere chere ka noor
My feet aren’t about heels,
My hands are about signing big deals
My mind is full of ideas so clear
My heart without any fear
I am proud to be a girl
It's not just about him, it's about her.
SINFUL DREAMS
She came up to me and whispered in my ear,
Her face was red and eyes full of tears
She asked me is this the world we are living in?
Is dreaming big my only sin?
Her body was filled with scars
With a quiet soul and seldom heart,
She held my hand and pulled me
To show me a world I had never seen
She took me into her tiny house
Where the broken paintings would shout
Like they wanted to tell me a story,
The story of pain and misery
It was about her father's anger
And how everything got shattered
Her hopes, her dreams
In her mind, those demons would scream.
The demons who told her being a girl is a curse
Is it all about a kitchen, a family, and a purse?
Waiting to be kicked was the football
Her only aim was to break the stereotypical wall
Her studs and a dirty jersey
With printed number twenty,
Told a story of an athlete who wore it
Did the jersey know it was a girl who carried it?
Did the ball question her gender?
Because this game was played by him, not her.
Who made these rules she asked me?
With her eyes as deep as the sea
She stared at me with questions
How should I tell her it’s the society's misconceptions?
With a little sigh I screamed,
There is nothing wrong in chasing your dreams
Equality is the right of every individual
The dreams of a girl are not just illusions
It's important to accept them as they are
Let them shine in the sky like a bright star
Let her be what she wants to
Let her play,
Let her slay
Let him cook,
Don't be so shook
Stereotyping is something which needs to be stopped
Dreams are of one's own, they can’t be robbed
Come out of the circle of ‘what will people say’
Let them live and enjoy each and every day
As parents, we need to let them free
And I’m glad my parents did the same with me
Even a bird leaves it's the little one to fly
So that she falls, learns and never becomes shy
Acceptance is important in every aspect
Their priorities they will set
To the little girl, I had something to say
And then came that day
It was my turn to tell her,
That she has to be under no pressure
Because dreaming big,
Wasn’t her sin.
