My Spray Tan Sunshine
My Spray Tan Sunshine
The darkness of the morning was the reflection of dark thoughts;
That in spite of bright sunshine she was always been called a sunspot.
The windows had the shadows of bitterness;
But her smile was sunshine to cover those shadows with happiness.
In spite of living in boundaries of the black and white square;
Cocaine heroine and weed were no more my best friends because of her care.
Her sweetness like brown jaggery became my new addiction;
But only white sugar can lower the bitterness of the heart was people’s conviction.
The fairness of her heart in spite of having dark souls around made me a believer;
That I can also become an achiever.
From a sick, powerless, helpless loser;
Her blazing hopes gave my shady nights a closure.
Because of the color, she was always separated by racism’s line;
But for me, she became My Spray Tan Sunshine…..
