My Rock
My Rock
‘Thank you’ could never be enough
for someone who’s given me so much —
my solid ground in shifting sands,
my compass when I’m lost in no-man’s-land,
the light in the window when every door is locked —
you are my rock.
When the darkness steals away my light
and the world breaks my will to fight —
when the seas have left me tossed and turned
and the fire has left my spirit burned,
when every path I try to forge ahead is blocked —
you are my solid ground in shifting sands,
my compass when I’m lost in no-man’s-land,
the light in the window when every door is locked —
you are my rock.
