My Midnight Friend

Shining on my window 

Once again tonight

It's the moon I talk to,

Every night

He talks about the stars, 

I talk about life

He talks about the sun, 

I talk about fright

He also talks about some things,

 which makes me cry

I also talk about some things, 

which makes him quiet

I love the stars and the sun

And that much he knows

But there are a lot of things about him, that I do not know

And maybe that's why he 

disappears every 14th night

Leaving nothing but 

darkness, that I fear the most 

And maybe that's why he talks about the Stars and the sun

Because they make him shine

And maybe he wants me to find my stars and sun, 

so that I don't miss him on those dark nights

And maybe it's the moon

That truly knows me,

And maybe it's his friends, that witness all this

That maybe it's not the moon I talk to every night

But also myself, who wishes to escape some parts of life
