My first day at school
My first day at school
For a five-year-old like me,
Our entire world begins from school.
Life beholds a lot to see.
And that seems to be very cool.
The aroma of pen and paper made me feel that I was free.
It seemed like I could write and paint the lives of people in Istanbul.
The smooth texture of my books and the ability to write can improvise your entire pedigree.
And that was what I felt when I first stepped into my school with all the tools.
I put on my new uniform, wore my new bag, and happily started my journey to end with a degree.
I hopped and jumped on my way to school and, my mother asked me to be very careful.
I danced and hobbled through the school corridor like a monkey.
And cried out of joy and looked around to follow the rules.
School looked like a whirlpool.
So big, so many, and there was so much to agree.
Some cried, and some whined. I stayed cool.
Because as a five-year-old, I've got a lot to learn and a lot to see.
To build my life like I would like it to be.
