Musandam Memories
Musandam Memories
🌊✨
In Musandam’s cradle of sky and sea,
we lived more than a trip—serendipity.
Benita, my sister, feared the deep blue,
clutched by all, as the waters drew.
Nausea struck after swimming awhile,
but banana boats flipped her into a smile!
The speedboat came—her new wild crush,
“Again! Again!” she cried in a rush.
And Georgina—oh, what a name divine!
Beloved from Famous Five, yet stitched with mine:
George from father, Neena from me,
a living puzzle of destiny.
We spoke of poetry, faith, philosophy, funny etymology Elephant, sea friends, birds butterflies, Chiroptera and flight,
of turtles, birds, and stars at night.
Conversations of adventures in Sri Lanka, wide and free—
we wished they’d never cease to be.
Mansions loomed on rocky shores,
but we needed no gilded doors.
For heaven was here: calm water below,
endless sky above in a mindful glow.
Yusuf Ali’s wit, Manshyat the “poet,”
Shabbir as “Alexander,” the crew made us know it.
Captain Aslam, with steady grace,
guided our laughter through time and space.
Banana boats flipped, fear gripped—yet I laughed, mindful in the splash; for just like life’s sudden U-turns, a calm heart and God as the life-jacket keep you afloat in joy amidst the chaos
Not a mere holiday, but a soul’s voyage—where spirit swam in sea and sky, after flat walls and flat screens, I found freedom’s ecstasy, engraved forever, beyond luxury, beyond chaos.
