I’m an icon miles away from what I love,

Call me star crossed, flying above.

I stare as you fall into the horizon,

Calling to you as darkness overtakes,

And all your light slowly escapes.

Memories taking to patterns like lights in the sky.

Slowly telling each moment we shared in time.

As I slowly drift into each distant, dying light,

They tear apart my image knowing they’ve passed by.

Just as your light begins to shine life into me,

I’m forced to see you just out of reach.

Still feeling your embrace come upon me,

A subtle kiss or touch,

As all fades back to dusk.
