Money
Money
Money can't buy happiness
She was the daughter of a millionaire
She married a billionaire
yet happiness eludes her life
She spent time on a shopping spree
Spending money, as if raining from mint tree
not knowing there are millions who can't afford
a cup of tea.
One day while sailing
there was thunder,
there was gale
She was lost in sea
In the tempest, nobody listened to her plea.
Soon her boat was swept
by waves and landed on a shore
she cried she wept
She felt a hand on her head
she turned around
only to see an old man in tattered clothes, eyes twinkling, bare foot.
She thought had he come here to loot?
His head was shaking,
her tears he was wiping
assuring her, she was safe.
He led her to a hut
its roof was half cut
a torn cloth hung
to shield the afternoon
sun
other luxuries were none.
On a stove, something brew
She was offered warm stew
she gulped it,
though she didn't like it
she was hungry
so, she did not refuse it.
and peacefully she slept
When she was awake
She was surrounded by little kids
neither had proper thread nor shoes
yet no one spoke of their woes!
They all smiled,
they giggled,
Each one shared their
portion of stew and bread.
Her ego dissolved
Her life's lesson was solved
She knew the meaning of life
She heard a familiar voice,
her father was there,
She hugged the old women
and kissed the old man
She caressed the little ones
for they had saved her life
With Money what she could not buy
Love and blessings were showered
Her life changed forever
What Money could not do to her.
