The Waves

The Waves

In the rising sun,

the sand shone, and the ripples giggled,

dancing to the tune of a gentle breeze.

A little boy walked towards the sea,

dancing, giggling, playing in the sand.

The waves said 'Come to me, my child'

Let's play seek and hide,

Jump on my waves,

In my bosom, you shall hide.

I'll toss you up,

and you shall land on my cushiony lap.

The waves became unruly, they were curly,

Laughing loudly, baring their fangs,

ready to engulf, for they were hungry.

For very long,

nothing came along,

to cool their fire,

of hunger dire.

To satiate,

was the game they played

So, unmistakably, we must

trap this boy in the net.

The boy was amazed at the crashing waves.

Their might, their fight,

were an alluring sight.

He took a step forward,

only to be pulled backward,

by a holy man,

who swam,

to save the child,

from coming to any harm.

The waves were furious,

Alas, they gave up,

retreating their steps.

Now their 'ebb' subdued.

For they knew it was 'The Lord's wish,'

They dare not FISH.
