5 + 1 = 6 Steps of Grief
5 + 1 = 6 Steps of Grief
They say there are five stages of grief,
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance,
Each a painful step towards relief,
A journey through pain and heartache immense.
But I propose an addition to this list,
A stage not often talked about,
A feeling that cannot be dismissed,
A desire for revenge, an urge to shout.
When loss and pain are all we see,
And our hearts are filled with rage,
A craving for retribution, a need to be free,
A burning desire to turn the page.
For revenge may not be healthy or right,
But it's a feeling we cannot deny,
When we've lost what we hold tight,
And the pain just won't subside.
So let us acknowledge this sixth stage,
A feeling that's hard to confess,
For when we're lost in grief's rage,
Revenge may bring us some solace and rest.
