The Coronation
The Coronation
And now walk I, this meandering mile,
Under cloudless sky, with mirthless smile,
In wistful tale with awful twist,
On a sunny day dulled by the mist.
It fills the sight, it grabs the eye,
The answer to my unasked ‘why?’
The haunter of my waking sleep
Has come, her promises to keep.
A hundred days and more have passed,
And more shall go, the spell is cast.
The queen has come and she will rule,
Regard the wise, reproach the fool.
Too much gone wrong, too little right,
We agonize in global plight.
We are too late, she came too soon…
To us a curse, to Earth a boon.
A brave new world will beckon all,
No rich or poor or big or small.
One world, one way, one people, one Earth,
One government shall come to birth.
One shall we be, and in one way see
The future that will set us free.
As quarantined in expectation,
We witness Earth’s coronation.
