Mom, Dad

Mom, Dad

I don't remember,

The way you looked at me,

When I came in this world,

But it's certain,

That it would have been,

One of the best sights ever.

I don't know,

The way you exulted,

When you heard my voice for the first time,

But I am sure,

That it was one of best melodies,

You could ever hear.

I am unaware,

Of the way you held,

My little fingers in your palms,

And taught me to walk and run,

Picked me up when I stumbled,

And taught me to be strong since then.

I will never know,

The way you poured love for me,

Right from holding me in your arms,

To letting me out into an unknown world,

All the while, staying by me,

Like the sunlight for the sapling,

Until I grew up to be a tree,

Still then,

Your love overflowed the brim of the cup of milk,

You always forced me to drink.

I am still in awe,

Of the shield you always became for me,

Whenever a tear came close to falling,

And made me forget all the grief,

And became the reason of my smile,

Even today,

And the strength of my weak bones,

Even till this date.

I wonder,

If I could be your walking stick someday,

The same way you became my cradle and bicycle together.

I wonder,

If my love for you,

Could ever reach the slightest of the extent of yours,

Mom, Dad,

I owe you this life,

I wish someday,

You could owe all your pains and troubles to me.
