Melancholy Shade
Melancholy Shade
As dark took over for daylight,
Gazing into the heavens alone,
Everyone else was sleeping tight,
I'm bathed in a melancholy tone.
Again moon begins to cry for me,
Shaking my head I say it's okay.
He tells me no; my pain he sees.
Turning my back, it hurts to say.
Realizing my hurt, he asked what to do,
Shoulders shrug, I don't even know.
"I choose to spend my nights with you",
Said he believed me, he knew it was so.
With a beam he then cupped my face,
Said, "How he'd not speak if it again."
"Can you take this pain? I can't erase,"
I said holding tears before they begin.
He says, love will find you one day soon;
I wish you'd take melancholy shade.
Beams reached out from the moon,
Light engulfed me till the night did fade.
