Maybe Someday
Maybe Someday
Maybe
Someday, there won’t be wars,
All this blood will not be lost.
We’ll realize how much it all cost
Not only the pennies or the lives,
The loss of humanity that we’ll all have caused.
Maybe
Someday, we’ll stop murdering the future
The Aylans and the Omrans, our own
Too young to grasp the horrors we have grown
In this beautiful world of ours, our precious abode
Marred by violence, run by criminal crowns.
Maybe
Someday, there will be peace all around,
When weapons will only be in the chapters on history.
Lost in the annals of the terrible past, the mystery
Of why we chose to hate rather than love aloud
And why we let them burn it to the ground.
Maybe one day, there won’t be wars,
All this blood will not be lost.
