Mausa..When You Are No More

Mausa when you are no more,

I look at your house balcony 

From my third four floor window..

And find the flowers in the vases

Laughing no more 

As brightly as they did 

In your presence.

Mausa when you are no more, 

I go downstairs remembering 

You and the way you smiled 

At me with eyes sparkling with peace,

With a closeness that touched 

The innermost corner of the heart 

Telling me you were no stranger,

Neither my neighbour,

But a caring family member.

Mausa when you are no more,

I keep thinking often enough 

How this colony would be alive with your 

Love and good humour,

Every man your son

And every woman your daughter.

Mausa when you are no more,

I don't look at your balcony any longer,

But at a quiet star in the skies afar;

I think with nostalgia

You keep twinkling there.

Mausa when you are no more,

I keep looking at the trees with foliage green 

But without you they are no longer 

An enchanting scene. 

I will be missing you; 

Your informality and solicitous nature 

Forever and ever.
