Life's like a Bird
Life's like a Bird

Trapped in an old, rusty cage
Neither free nor restrained
Like a bird with injured wings
Cannot escape, cannot fly
With no one to lean on
Only the darkness to hear
The shouts and cries that adhere
Long time it has been
The injured wing has healed
With a flap of its' wings
Slowly starting to move
Once restrained now unrestricted
By the wounds it had back then
It flew and saw the beauty of the world
Still, couldn't stop the laws of nature
But now, free from the shackles of the past
Only one could help oneself to heal
