Inner Voice

Flipping through ivory pages of her life,

Full of inner dilemma and bitter strife.

The pale white colour of the past,

Haunted her for no esteem to last.

Downfall, failure and scorching ache,

Constantly hammered for her to break.

Chapters on grief and endless pain,

More than any soul could contain.

Lost in the dark streets of shame,

Longing to walk in the hall of fame.

Today standing on a blank page,

With shivering bones and lost courage.

There was something holding her back,

Consumed all of her in just a smack.

Stuck in midst of agony and anguish,

Dripped the ink and made a wish.

That first word was hard to write,

But knowing she had to fight.

Searched for some power within,

And there gleamed the spark long hidden,

"There's nothing you can't win!",

Whispered a voice from within.
