i'm just a girl

i'm just a girl

3 mins

I'm just a girl,
I get mad at small things,
But small things can make me happy too.
The small "text me when you get home"
A wildflower picked for me from the side of the rode,
The 'i' infront of i love you
The 'this reminded me of you'
Makes my day
I'm just a girl,
I don't want much
All I want is for someone
To see my fears which I'm trying to hide,
To see my unshed tears
To hear the crack in my voice,
When all I want is to disappear
I'm just a girl,
All I want is for someone to say,
"You can do it yaar" "Mein hu na tere saath" and sometimes say "damn I"m proud of you" and "ik you have been strong for two long"
I'm just a girl,
All I want
Are little efforts that shows you care about me.
The small sleepy I love you,
a note when we meet,
For our hug to be a little tighter like you don't want me to leave
I'm just a girl
I will support you in all your toughest calls
I will push you to be your best version but just not tell you at all,
"Why do you always want me to go to sleep first" oh I wish I could tell you, but sometimes I will leave things unsaid.
I'm not the one to stop you from accomplishing your dreams
I'm the one to push you towards them even if I'm the one to bleed
But
All I want is for you to reciprocate it
For you to see me
For you to go and say that " i'm glad its her"
I'm just a girl
I will make sure that my friends know
That no one can mistreat them because it's my heart they own
I make sure that even they know that I care because at the end, even they are just girls
I'm just a girl
I want my parents to see me for myself
Not just a vision of which family I represent
I want my parents to love me as I am and for them to just give me a hug and it's okay my child
I'm just a girl
I will be crying a river inside but you won't see it on my face "because girls just cry"
I will be in pieces but pick up your broken heart, bleed my hands out but you won't see it at last
With a smile on my face I will do the things at last
But all I want is for someone to say
"I'm proud of you"
I'm just a girl
I have to prove my potential
Because in a world where basic human atticates is being special is a world I don't want
I want my kids to live in a world where patricarchy or putting down humans based on there gender, caste or colour isn't a thing
For them to know that basic humans rights is a necessity not a gift.
For them to know that neither a person can put them down nor they can do so
They must know "what you give, is what you should accept".
I'm just a girl....
