I Am Brown

I may not fit in your beauty standards

I am given a rating on the beauty scale

I am far from fair complexion

You may have standardized fair as being beautiful

All other complexions are considered to be on the darker side

You judge me

According to my colour

I am reminded every day

I won't find a suitor

If I can't find one

Then I won't lead a happy life

You can't even tolerate

Me being single

You fail to see my golden heart

Cause your eyes are always fixed

On my brown face

God created me in this way

There is no need for me to be fair
