Developed - Yet To Develop

Hindu muslim sikh christian,

Several rituals, varied superstition.

Country with more than one religion,

Binding castes, even with discrimination.

Hijaab, sarees, kurta, ganghra, lancha,

Some of the several apparels we wear.

Colors, diversity and cultures holding us together,

Outer forces, yet unable to tear.

Taj Mahal, Golden temple, Ellora Caves,

Are few centers of attraction.

Temples in south, Mathura and Banaras

Spell bounds tourists,

Are gems witnessed in our nation.

Best army, doctors, engineers, farmers, cricketers

You name it we have it all.

Fabrics imported exported throughout the world,

Be it Tamil's silk or Kashmiri's shawl.

Ramanujam, Aryabhatta,

Contributed in education, are memorable intellects.

Gandhi, bhagat singh, rani laxmibai,

The freedom fighters one can never forget.

Street food, spices, yoga, culture,

Or our simplicity, it fascinates everyone.

Attached to roots, living together as one,

Be it forefathers or their grandsons.

Several traditions, festivals, weddings,

Celebrated diversely and merrily.

Tapping toes at several form of dance,

Thank lord I was born in this country, luckily.

Golden bird it was once called

Often leaves the tourists, enthralled.​

Visit us once and you won't regret.

But we are conservative ,

Word like sex still unutterable.

Young girls being raped,

And the government will remain stable.

Girl child still killed in womb,

Other fighting for their rights.

Should be a perfect cook,

And a man's delight in the night.

Leave about girls,

We are yet to develop, in several other sections.

Why isn't it we focus on things

Which actually require our attention.

It is time to get over

Reservations, racism, and feminism or what so ever shit.

Keeping the spirit of an Indian alive,

Moving ahead of all the hypocrite.

Its time to move forward

And take a leap

With all the honor,

Integrity and culture to keep

​I know we are yet to develop,

And it will take time.

Let us start from taking initiatives

And be more than a witness to a crime.

Lets be the part of new India

Which will take time to evolve.

Speak up, stand upfront and be

Courageous for any sudden fall.
