Exceptional

You and I,

Leading normal lives is an exception.

Thinking others are privileged like us,

Is just a deception.

 

If you are able to read this,

Then you are fortunate too.

Blessed with great environment,

Society, food, education, are quite a few.

 

Taking things for granted,

As you were born with a silver spoon.

Ignorant to the terror around,

Might impact your lifestyle soon.

 

​You and I are exceptional,

As we have food to satisfy our appetite,

While some sleep with an empty stomach,

Urging for food every night.

 

You and I are exceptional,

As we were born with a roof over our head,

Recent bombardment in Syria, left us shattered

As several lay dead.

 

You and I are exceptional,

As we are able to read and study,

Girls like Malala, had to take a gun shot,

To run their life steady.

 

You and I are exceptional,

As we are born in a liberal state.

No people slaughtered, for demanding their right

Or women often sold as a bait.

 

You and I are exceptional,

As the world's greatest army protect,

Surrounded by the warriors,

Who courageously take every bullet on their chest.

 

You and I are exceptional,

As we need not farm, we have a farmer,

Who often suicide due to lack of money, debt

But are our knights in shining armour.

 

Unaware of being fed up of the disturbance,

The crime and terror that surrounds,

Rapist, murderers, goons,

Who are generally all around.

 

Thank lord everyday,

For being safe and sound.

Be a helping hand to others,

As what goes around comes back around .

 

Don't be selfish,

Or be afraid of karma.

Let love and peace,

Be the only Dharma.

 

Let us take a step forward,

A step towards peace.

As the fire has started ruining the world,

And "love" can be the only power for it to cease.
