Dare To Be Alone
Dare To Be Alone
I was alone even among the multitude;
No one had feelings for me,
No one wept for me in my distress.
And no one stood by me in peril.
I was alone to fight my life.
The victory followed me on the way,
Unwonted delight chilled my heart.
I dreamt of applause and genuine smiles.
It’s a stroke of mere luck, many derided.
I was alone to celebrate my victory.
Miseries pulled me down,
Robbing me of my hopes and strengths.
I aspired for the bounty of generous hearts
And the smiles of solacing hearts,
But I was just alone to witness my bitter destiny.
The world portrayed many such lives
Before the reality of my sight.
Nothing was different for them
Except that they had benefactors.
I was again left alone in my agonies.
The silence of a grave caught my attention,
Many thronged to console its denizens.
Tears were shed as customary,
Flowers were offered extravagantly,
And I wasn’t alone to see the mockery.
There, the realization opened my insight;
As the advent is alone, the return too shall be thus.
I might be everything for many
But the return shall be alone
And you shall leave like an open grave.
So, dare to be alone.
