A Nostalgic Journey

I long to go back to where innocence reigns,

My children, little angels, by my side in glee

With their naughty spirit and mischievous delight 

And with the fuss and complaints of days and nights.

Scary nights of fever, darkness' cruel play, 

Days of wounded knees, where tears rain,

Their listless gloomy days make my sky cloudy, 

And I long to see them in their noisy world.

The fragrant new books longing for ink's tender touch

The sweet shop's display, a feast for the eyes,

Rainy days with umbrellas still folded, yet dear, 

Wattle stick's kisses, true lessons we hold dear.

Oh, how they gift us our nostalgic memories, 

To journey back in time, to regain the stolen days, 

And to return to the present with no regret or loss.

But Alas! Time travel is still a tale unexplored.
