Dancing Demons

Dancing Demons

Hey, girl where are you going?

only shadows following

Dancing Demons chasing

Awkward, deafening silence.

Pin-drop!!

I murmured, going back home

I fastened steps hearing distant voices

I was sweating, numb hands and feet.

My heart pounding

I staggered to walk ahead

This is the place, I belong

Yet alien, indifferent

Hey, girl where are you going?

Each crossroad, I swirled head in all directions.

I slowed, stepping quietly, maki

ng no voice

Hey, girl where are you going?

Heard a screech

I stopped, fearing worse

Will I see stories narrated everyday

I clutched pepper spray tightly

when I got closer, saw a puppy wagging tail

A weak smile ran on face

I have yet to cross a mile

Its five  minutes walk in the crowded street every morning

Hey, girl where are you going?

Did I dare every day?

Yes I dare

Not to fall

Prey to swallowing darkness.
