Cycle of Life
Cycle of Life
Side by side, they sit, a fading glow,
Once the pillars, now the years slow.
Their guiding light, that shone so bright,
Now dims, a poignant, bittersweet sight.
They stood by us, through joy and strife,
Gave us wings, and taught us life.
As we grew, they stepped aside,
Their presence fading, like a gentle tide.
We thought they'd rest, and reap what they'd sown,
But time keeps moving, and they're not alone.
In quiet moments, I wonder what they see,
Reflections of the past, or what's yet to be?
May their thoughts be happy, their hearts at peace,
For they've lived a life, that's righteous and release.
May we, their children, stand by them with might,
And be there for them, as they were for us in the night.
But we can't repay, the debt we can't define,
All we can do, is pass on their love and shine.
In our own children, we can keep them alive,
In the values we teach, and the love we give.
This is the cycle, of life's ebb and flow,
A story of love, and letting go.
A reminder to cherish, each precious stage,
And honor those, who gave us life's page,
At this stage of life,
I ponder, isn't this the cycle of life?
