Cobblestones To Remember
Cobblestones To Remember
The light turned red
And so I stopped
To stare at the cobblestones on which I walk
Strewn with the blood of a man I did not know.
I bend down to look closer but,
Then I hear a song.
A melody of joy and laughter fill the air
And I begin to dance
I twirl around and around as the music soars
And a man joins me
To dance on the cobblestones
Strewn with the blood of a man I did not know.
It goes on.
Day becomes night.
Night becomes day.
And we continue to dance
As we stoke the flames to keep the darkness at bay
And listen to the wolves howling in the distance.
I look up at the sign.
The light had turned green.
The music had stopped.
The howling was gone.
And I had moved on.
Leaving behind the cobblestones
Strewn with the blood of a man I did not know.
