A Tree's Shadow Is Heaven
A Tree's Shadow Is Heaven
My roots are spread wide and long
To pave the way for making me strong
The color of spring flowers shall render a crown
On my branches spread wide, bent and brown
To provide you succor, to provide you shade
From the sweltering heat made to fade
By the gentle touch of the mild breeze
That swings to and fro like a circus trapeze.
The golden rays of the sun play hide and seek
While glistening dewdrops take a peek,
Sharing a glimmer to the leaves green
As the peacocks below dance and preen
Can you not feel my presence here
That drives away the summer fear
Of a fiery day and a sweaty night
My shadow presenting a heavenly sight.
