Abstract

A Writer's Soul

A Writer's Soul

1 min 199 1 min 199

My imaginary muse stands on the ledge

Staring at the frightening expanse below,

Would she perish, or would she be saved

Like a heroine in a Bollywood show?

She has been hounded by peers,

Deserted by a man whom she loved,

Her life is in shambles, her mind in fear

And her fate will soon be decided,

By the vagaries of my soul, as here

I am the writer of the tale to be told.

My heart says jump, but my mind says no,

My soul decrees that a man on the go

Will break her fall on the shore,

And love her forever and more.

The paper flies from my hand and swirls in the breeze,

I leap and run in the sand and catch it like a trapeze.

I can wait for no longer for the ink to flow,

And script the end for all to know.
