A Tattoo
A Tattoo
As tattooed names became more painful
Both in colour and sour memory of pain
With a hurting heart, she scraped her skin, still
Deep in her flesh remained the dark tattoo
As the blood gushed, she scrapped her flesh
But etched in the bone, a scared tattoo teased her
She chopped off the bone, as the agony killed
But now in the dark hollow of nothingness too
The carved tattoo haunted me, reminding me folly of her.
