The Unconditional
The Unconditional
When I knocked on so many doors
When the doors slammed in my face
When I haunted every gully, hoping
All the time you were there, beside me
Every time encouraged me, to try again
Finally, one fine day, luck did smile at me
A hundred doors opened everywhere
The limelight dazzled me all the time
A million fans died to see my face
But, you were suddenly nowhere visible
Every direction was empty without you
One day the fame left me, dry and void
As turned on when there was not a single fan
Alas, I found you with an outstretched hand
“You left me alone” I cried, “No, Never,” you said
“I was all the time, just behind you,
Ready to hold you, in case slipped and fell”
