A Stranger

A Stranger

Today was the first day I saw my father.

I saw him, he saw me, and we just stood there.

No greetings, no hugs and on my part, no cries.

He stood there, eyes filled with tears,

hands open to receive a hug,

words full of happiness and excitement.

For him, he was seeing his world.

For me, I was seeing a stranger.
