A new time, a new life

I came to you,

just like you came to me,

vulnerable, full of insecurities,

expectations, a bag full of hope.

as your heart eyed mine,

I swear all the songs remembered their muses,

and you became my uncalled emotion,

one week later, you told me that I had to stay,

I needed to stay,

to be able to heal your wounds and mine,

I lost the ability to form words then

and could only stare at the falling star behind.

where the moon would shine a little brighter,

and the breeze would caress my hair

making you tuck a strand behind my ear,

as the tunes of the violin played witness,

But

I walked away from you,

just like you did from me,

vulnerable, full of insecurities,

packing away a bag full of hope,

for I could never find those words the stars stole from me,

But if there ever was a new time, a new life

I would choose to re-live everything the way it was and buy us just a little more time,

to tell you the things in my mind and not hope to save it for another life.
