A Moment's Truth

Now, “THE TIME” has come, 

The final meters before the race, 

Serious eye contact, A quiet phase.

The nervousness has passed for the place.

For you not the same, 

Sweat swifts, while brows pucker, still a dismal gaze.

Facts have been laid, Some true, some not, 

Some may be false but true nevertheless, 

Some were true, But do not make sense.

Confused with the brain’s usual confusion, 

Usually a thought and some resistance, 

After a second, a smart solution. 

It is different this time, or every time maybe, 

This time just thoughts, 

A raging river on a draught.

Too much to process, Too little a time, 

Words not many,

Their meaning, LOTS.

The river still raging, clocks stop, 

Mind still confused, 

lip speak out.

The curtain is drawn, and so have your lips, 

The words have traveled, 

Their effect observed.

For such an intelligent being, 

When needed the most, 

Our minds were shut.
